Resident Services Coordinator – Full Time

The Barnesville Housing Authority is seeking an experienced social service/ housing professional to serve as its Resident Services Coordinator. The BHA is a small housing authority with a total of 204 low-income public housing units located on four sites. The ideal candidate must possess a range of skills and abilities in order to qualify for this position. Under general guidance of the Executive Director, the Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating programs for all Authority residents concerning issues such as, health, education, social services, recreation, and substance abuse prevention.  The incumbent will serve as the liaison between the City of Lamar County, Lamar County School District, along with other local and near servicing agencies.

Bachelor’s degree preferred in sociology, social work, or public/business administration or related field or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the role of a social worker or relatable role and work with disadvantaged persons or any equivalent combination of training and experience to meet the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  

Hiring Range and Benefits

$38,000 – $57,000 (beginning salary will be commensurate with experience) with 100% health insurance coverage, retirement, paid holidays, vacation leave, and life insurance.

The Dallas (GA) Housing Authority is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Housing Manager.  This is a highly responsible administrative position which reports directly to the Executive Director.  Supervision of other administrative employees may also be required.  Duties performed include application taking; initial and on-going eligibility reviews, leasing apartments; providing customer service; and maintaining financial and statistical records.  All duties must be performed in accordance with Program rules and regulations.

The ideal candidate should have at least five (5) years’ experience working in the leasing and occupancy of federally subsidized housing properties.  Knowledge of the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Program is a plus.  A high school diploma or equivalent is required.  A degree from an accredited college or university is a plus.

Brunswick Housing Authority (“BHA”) is seeking an experienced “Interim Executive Director” to oversee and direct a public-housing agency located in Brunswick, Georgia, having a public-housing program with over 585 public-housing units, along with a Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8 – HCV) consisting of some 750 additional units.  BHA also has approximately 50 market rate units and over 70 affordable LIHTC units under management. The Calhoun Housing Authority (“CHA”) is a public housing authority primarily funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for the management of 249 public housing units located within the city limits of Calhoun Georgia, Gordon County.  CHA has approximately nine administrative personnel and four maintenance personnel.  CHA has a nonprofit organization, New Foundations Development, which implements new construction and renovations throughout Gordon and Bartow Counties for low-income homeowners in those areas through the use of State and Federal Grants such as CHIP, HPG, USDA, and others as available.  New Foundations has an impeccable history of such work and has renovated well over 200 homes in the past 10 years.

Description

The Board of Commissioners of the City of Byron Housing Authority is seeking an Executive Director to manage day-to-day operations of thirty-two (32) Public Housing units. The Executive Director shall provide the general supervision over the administration of the Authority’s business and affairs and ensuring such business affairs are conducted in compliance with the rules and requirements of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Executive Director shall be the Authority’s chief administrator and shall have the day-to-day responsibility of managing the Authority, implanting the policy directives of the Authority (Board), and assuming the overall leadership role in guiding, programmatic, fiscal, personnel, and public relations activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Social Sciences or related area from an accredited college or university and or equal experience. Three to five years of experience in an Executive / decision-making / leadership role or in related field is desirable.

Required Knowledge

Knowledgeable about low-income housing and programs. Management of public housing strongly desired. The public housing management certification is desired. If not, it must be obtained within one year of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer regulations policies and procedures consistent with federal, state, and public housing and ensure compliance with accounting, budgeting, and audit procedures as well as eligible funding requirements.
  • Communicate effectively both oral and writing, establishing, and maintaining effective working relationships with Board of Commissioners, HUD, City Officials, Staff and Residents, legal, and financial consultants.
  • Take actions as necessary to ensure that the Housing Authority become a High Performer Agency.
  • Act as the primary liaison to the Board, communicate housing strategy, policy, procedures, recommendations, HUD updates, and financial information which may include reports, conversations, and regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Work effectively with the Board Of Commissioners to establish annual and five-year plans that reflect the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Assure that the agendas, minutes, and materials that reflect the monthly Board meeting are prepared and maintained in accordance with current laws and regulations.
  • Plan, prepare operating and capital budgets in accordance with HUD guidelines.
  • Ensure that all HUD management and finance requirements are met (FDS, Audits, PIC, etc.)
  • Work towards increasing client participation in self-sufficiency programs.
  • Other duties assigned by the Board.

Salary: Negotiable based on experience, generous benefits, contract position.
